Nathan and I (Shauna) have been married since 2004 and have been in the ministry ever since. We have 6 kids, a dog, and a cat.
From an early age I desired to take care of vulnerable children; specifically, orphans and children who were in need of support and care.
In 2017 we had three children enter our home through the foster care system and they each needed permanency through adoption. Throughout our ministry, we have served in the local church and in 2020 God called us to orphan care.
Along with continuing to serve in the local church, we are jumping in with both feet to help churches step into the world of orphan care! I (Shauna) am now a Missionary with the Assemblies of God. I am here to help guide church leaders to develop a foster care, adoption, and support ministry within their church.
UNTIL EVERY CHILD IS HOME
The Church is the solution to the orphan care crisis:
Every child deserves that place to call home, where you rest your head at night, that place that brings you sweet peace, where you know you are endlessly loved and valued.
There are over 400,000 kids in our foster care system over 100,000 kids waiting to be adopted.
Those numbers seem daunting until we break them down further and realize that when the church, the CHURCH, steps in to care for the most vulnerable in our society, it's making a kingdom impact. There are over 350,000 thousand churches in the US alone.
We, as believers, have this beautiful responsibility to care for kids, kids who are hurting, fatherless kids, kids who are in our foster care system, and vulnerable kids right here in our communities.
When you impact one child's life, you change their future. It's giving them the chance to know Jesus.
Will the task be easy? No.
Will it be messy? Yes.
But how sweet it will be when they have the genuine opportunity to know Jesus.
Every child deserves a place to call home, and the church is the solution to all of this.
Our mission is to see every child home.
O church, let's go!
1. Pray for the kids in foster care.
2. Pray that the local church would care for orphans.
3. Pray for our budget to be raised.
